Miracle foods for a healthy prostate!

First, a quick Google search with the keywords Miracle Foods For A Healthy Prostate generated 5,800,000 results in 51 seconds! Interesting topic you say? You see, and we cannot say it enough, if there was evidence that a single food or a so-called natural supplement could prevent the development of prostate diseases, such as cancer, enlarged prostate (or BPH) or prostatitis, it would probably be sold everywhere on the planet… and at a high price.

A healthy prostate versus prostate cancer

Take prostate cancer. Thanks to scientific research, we now know more and more about the relationship between diet and cancer. Some studies show, for example, a link between diet, weight and the risk of various cancers, including prostate cancer. But these links are complex and a large number of hypotheses remain to be confirmed.

While researchers have in the past studied specific food components that they believe have a protective effect against cancer, such as antioxidants, their approach has however broadened: they are now looking at the role of healthy eating habits in the prevention of cancer, which is no small feat. Indeed, understanding the links between food and cancer is far from simple, because each person, like you, consumes thousands of food substances daily.

Turmeric, tomatoes, omega-3 supplements…

We mentioned at the outset the results generated by the Internet with certain keywords. However, given the sheer volume of information available on the web and elsewhere, it is often difficult to tell fact from fiction and we regularly receive questions about whether turmeric, tomato or omega-3 supplements, to name a few, are beneficial for the prostate. Currently, no single food has been proven to benefit the prostate.

Rather than betting on a miracle food, adopt a healthy diet

A healthy diet – including lots of vegetables and fruits, lots of fiber, low-fat protein from fish, poultry, lean meats as well as being low in fat and salt – is what promotes good health, helping you maintain a healthy weight while providing the necessary energy to be physically active!

Enjoy your lunch!
