Holidays are generally synonym of gatherings and celebrations with family and friends.

It is a moment of happiness, during which we wish to please our closes relatives, but it is also a restless time. Since the end of the year festivities can be exhausting, even when we are healthy, they might seem even more difficult if you suffer from prostate cancer, with the organization of the celebrations and the shopping creating a lot of stress.

You can however live a delightful moment, easy to manage, despite the illness, by planning your Holidays with simplicity, and by thinking of you, first and foremost.

Stay in Your Comfort Zone

Prostate cancer is already stressful and exhausting enough by itself. Therefore, it is better to rest as much as possible. For example, you can stay at home or at the places you feel the most comfortable. Thus, if you usually drive hundreds of miles to visit your family, invite them to see you this year.

Furthermore, to relieve yourself to the shopping’s craziness, you can buy most of your gifts online to please your relatives. In this way, you will spare yourself from the crowds of the shopping centers or the long wandering from a shop to another in the hope of finding the perfect gift. In addition, you will stay far from germs that could weaken even more your immune system.

Celebrate Simply

If you choose to receive your family and friends despite your prostate cancer, you should still try to schedule a simple evening. For example, plan an easy menu that you know very well, ask your relatives to help you prepare the meal, or organize a potluck by asking your guests to bring food you share together.

Since gatherings can be very exhausting, try to avoid parties where the number of guests is more important, if it is possible. You should prefer the presence of your closest relatives, which will know how to support you in the hardship that is prostate cancer.

Take Care of Yourself

Finally, even if, just like almost everyone, you want to please your relatives during holiday times, do not forget to think about yourself too. Prostate cancer can be overcome, provided that you take care if you. This is why you have to make sure to have fun, to celebrate simply, and, above all, to rest when you need it.

Now that the year is coming to a close, we wish you happy holidays with your loved ones and a healthy and hope-filled year 2016!
