MONTRÉAL — PROCURE Renews Its Mission to Better Reflect Its Commitment to Patients and Their Loved Ones
More than 20 years after its founding, PROCURE is evolving its mission to express with even greater clarity what drives its work: standing alongside patients and their loved ones at every stage of the prostate cancer journey.
This evolution is part of PROCURE’s 2026–2029 strategic planning process, which provided the organization with an opportunity to reflect on its role, its impact and the key areas it intends to mobilize to advance the cause in the years ahead.
Since 2003, PROCURE has evolved alongside the needs of people affected by prostate cancer, advances in research and changes across the healthcare landscape. The new mission does not change the organization’s purpose. Rather, it more clearly defines the role PROCURE seeks to play alongside patients, their loved ones and all those who contribute to their journey.
A Mission Centred on Patients and Their Loved Ones
PROCURE’s renewed mission is:

It reaffirms a fundamental belief: behind every service, every collaboration, every initiative and every investment in research are people and their loved ones, each with their own realities, questions and needs.

This renewed mission provides a clear direction for PROCURE’s continued evolution: to deepen the support offered to people affected by prostate cancer and their loved ones, while mobilizing the expertise, knowledge and partners that can help improve their journey.
This commitment includes an in-depth reflection on the evolution of patient services. PROCURE aims to better understand the needs that arise at different stages of the journey so it can continue to evolve its services and provide support that is increasingly relevant and accessible.
Research remains inseparable from this ambition. By supporting innovation and fostering collaboration among the scientific, clinical and community sectors, PROCURE aims to help accelerate progress that can meaningfully transform the journey of people affected by prostate cancer.

Every day, 18 Quebecers are diagnosed with prostate cancer. Since 2003, PROCURE has been the only charitable organization in Quebec entirely dedicated to the fight against prostate cancer through research, awareness, information and support. PROCURE is recognized by both the Association des urologues du Québec and the Canadian Urological Association.
